The principle: a container you share

In a shared container (LCL, as logistics people call it), your furniture travels in a container pooled with other shipments heading to the same destination. You only pay for the volume you take up, in cubic metres. Your pieces stay individually wrapped and labelled with your name — exactly as in a dedicated container.

What to know before you choose

• Allow roughly €150 to €300 per m³ of transport (indicative estimate depending on the destination, paperwork included) — more per m³ than a full container: that is the price of flexibility. In practice, a shared container makes sense from 2-3 m³, i.e. around €2,000 to €3,000 of furniture; below that, transport weighs too heavily against the order. Beyond fifteen or so m³, a dedicated 20 ft container usually becomes better value again — the exact tipping point is worked out in the quote, and we tell you honestly which side you are on.
• Timing depends on how fast it fills — a shared container leaves when it is full: allow a little more flexibility on the departure date than with a dedicated container.
• Made to measure stays total — a shared container doesn't mean a reduced range: the whole catalogue is made to your dimensions, whatever the size of the order.
• The same checks apply — inspection before packing, photos, follow-up: the process is identical.

Who it's the right option for

The private buyer furnishing a bedroom (bed, headboard, bedside tables), a terrace (daybed, armchairs), or wanting to test with a few pieces before a bigger project. If your list grows along the way — it often does — we recalculate the switch to a dedicated container, usually better value as soon as you furnish several rooms.
