From your project to delivery: the 6 steps

Ordering furniture made in Bali should never be a leap into the unknown. Here is exactly what happens, in order, when you entrust us with a project — and what you know at every step.

  1. You describe your project

Inspiration photos, desired dimensions, a list of pieces, style, delivery destination and an indicative budget. No technical drawings needed: a WhatsApp message with three Pinterest photos is enough to start the conversation.

  2. We consult the right workshops

Our agent identifies, among the makers we know, the ones whose craft matches your project: the door carver is not the bathroom cabinetmaker. You receive photos of comparable work and, where useful, suggestions (wood species, finishes, dimensions). How we select our workshops.

  3. Firm quote, clear terms

You receive a detailed quote: price per piece, packing, freight (full container or shared container depending on volume), insurance and lead times. Payment terms are set in writing before any commitment — a deposit to start, the balance on an agreed schedule, never the full amount up front. Our guarantees and payment terms in detail.

  4. Production followed, photos included

Handcrafted production usually takes 6 to 8 weeks — allow 10 to 12 weeks for a piece designed especially for you. Throughout, you receive progress photos straight from the workshop: raw timber, assembly, finishing. You watch your furniture being born — and anything off-spec gets fixed during production, not on arrival.

  5. Final quality control, before packing

Our agent inspects every piece: dimensions, drying quality (the critical point for your destination climate), finish, structural strength. Whatever fails goes back to the workshop. Whatever passes is photographed, approved with you, then packed for sea freight — furniture-grade protection, wood treatment compliant with import rules. Everything we check, piece by piece.

  6. Shipping and delivery to your door

Full container for large volumes, shared container for smaller projects: we organise transport to your arrival port or to your door, with export documents in order. Allow 4 to 5 weeks at sea to Europe and 8 to 10 weeks to North America, the Caribbean, Costa Rica and South America. You are kept informed of departure, transit and arrival. From Reunion Island to New York, this route has already proven itself — the documented deliveries are here.

The questions we get at this stage

What is the minimum budget? Sea freight has a fixed cost: below a certain volume it weighs too heavily on the total. A shared container makes projects from a few thousand euros worthwhile; for an honest figure, describe your project and we will tell you frankly whether it is worth it.
