Maobi Beach: a French Riviera beach club furnished from Bali

In the bay of Agay, at the foot of the Esterel massif, Maobi Beach brings together a restaurant, a bar and a private beach facing the Mediterranean. The decor is Balinese, and not just in appearance: woven-fibre armchairs, canopy daybeds, stone and wooden lanterns all made the journey from Indonesia.

It is the most direct demonstration of what this site is about: the furniture that creates the atmosphere of Bali's beach clubs works exactly the same way in Saint-Raphaël — same materials, same resistance to sun and salt air, for a budget unrelated to that of high-end outdoor furniture bought in Europe.

The terrace and the restaurant

The dining area opens entirely onto the bay, under a timber frame. It carries our workshops' hospitality signature: seating made in series — here woven fibre on slim legs — tables with wooden tops, and the Balinese lanterns on the posts that give the place its identity at first glance.

The private beach

On the sand, the vocabulary is that of the island's beach clubs: canopy daybeds and drapes, loungers lined up at the foot of the deck, woven rattan armchairs with wraparound backs. All of this furniture spends its seasons outdoors, in full sun and sea air — which is precisely what Bali's teak and natural fibres are made for.

What this project shows

A beach venue means series and replacement: dozens of identical seats, mattresses and covers that wear out long before the frames, and restocking to plan from one season to the next. That is exactly what we organise for restaurants and beach clubs — spare cover sets ordered with the series, dimensions kept on file to remake identical pieces, and every piece inspected before the container is loaded.

It is also proof that distance is not the issue: between the bay of Agay and a beach in Bali, there is a container, a schedule and someone on the ground to check — the 6 steps are here. Our other delivered projects are on our projects page.
